This is a brand new content series called Beards Behind the Brand! Our goal with this new series is to feature empowering stories from our community to encourage and inspire each other to be the best we can be.  

It's all about doing better every single day, and these stories unite us in that mission. This week we're featuring Live Bearded team member Nathan Daggett and his journey before, during and after the military.  

When we first met Nathan, it was pretty clear to us in just a few short days that he would play a big part in our lives for many years to come.

Finding someone more genuine, gracious and full of love would be a damn near impossible task. Nathan started his Live Bearded journey as a customer, and very quickly stood out in our Brotherhood as someone we could all rely on for support. He selflessly committed hours every week for a couple years, simply because he wanted to help, a true testament of the type of man he is. We knew we had to find a way to bring him on full-time.

We've seen him continually inspire others throughout the years. From his own health journey to motivating others, he's been a constant presence for so many people within the Live Bearded Brotherhood and we couldn't be more proud to have him officially with us here in Arizona.

P.S. He may look like a big tattooed badass dude, but he's the biggest softie I know. Although he could probably pick up a VW bug and throw it at you, he's much more likely to squash you with a hug.

Nathan on life in the military:

"It gave me the ability to persevere, to push past any obstacle and keep going until I got it right. That's something I'll cherish for the rest of my life."

On becoming more involved with Live Bearded:

"One of the things that really woke me up to Live Bearded was all the things I was hearing from Anthony. At this point, I was out of the military and had this horrible mindset. Somebody told me I was broken and I was stupid enough to believe them. To hear these thoughts that Anthony was saying made me understand I wasn't broken at all."

On the Live Bearded Brotherhood:

"The Brotherhood filled in a hole that I was missing in my life. Leaving the military and not having my squad anymore... not having my platoon anymore... not having my battle buddies... that was a bond I didn't think could get replaced. I have to tell you - and I know it sounds cliche - the bond I have with my bearded brothers is the closest thing I'm ever going to find to the bond I had with my squad."

At Live Bearded we believe Brotherhood goes beyond the beard. We believe it is our responsibility, as men, to do better every day, to learn from our mistakes, grow through our failures, and strive to be the best we can be.
