Travel Beard Care Essentials

What's up guys, today we are going to dive into beard care and travel essentials.

Whether you're a frequent traveler or simply planning a weekend getaway, we've got you covered with the must-have items to keep your beard well-groomed on the go.

Pack It Up

To kick things off, let's first talk about getting your beard care products to your final destination.

Whether you are flying or driving, you need to transport your grooming products, which is why every guy should have a quality Dopp kit or toiletry bag.
Whether you use ours or have one already, it's a must have to keep your things in order during transport.

What To Pack

Now, when it comes to choosing which products you should fill it with, this really comes down to what YOUR beard grooming routine is every day.

Here at Live Bearded, we recommend following our 3 step process of washing and conditioning your beard in the shower followed by applying beard oil to your skin to moisturize, and beard butter to condition, shape, and style your beard.
If you follow this routine daily, we recommend you take these products with you when you travel because the last thing you want is to be taking a family vacation picture with your beard looking like a hot mess.

Now, if you're driving, you have the luxury of just tossing your full size products into your Dopp kit and hitting the road.

Tips For Flying

If you are flying and checking a bag, the same is true. But for those of you like me who like to travel light and fly with only a carry on, you'll need to adjust a few things to avoid getting your products snatched through security.

TSA restricts liquids to 3.4 ounces or smaller so you'll need to transfer some beard wash and conditioner into smaller, travel safe, bottles. These can be picked up at nearly any local convenience store for a buck or so and you'll be set for every future trip you'll take.
Your full size beard butter and beard oil are TSA friendly so those are good to go just as they are.

If this sounds like pain, an alternate solution is to travel with a sample pack.
One sample pack comes with all four products in 6 fragrances, giving you 6 travel days worth of the natural products you love and the convenience of being super small and lightweight.

What Else?

When it comes to combs and brushes, I'd recommend the same rule I mentioned previously. Bring along anything you use daily to ensure you can style your beard to perfection wherever you go.

Now for me, I also always love bringing my MT-1 Beard Trimmer when I travel for more than a few days and here's why.

It drives me absolutely crazy to be somewhere and have my beard in need of a quick cleanup and not have the right tool for the job. So I always take it with me to ensure I can clean up the cheek lines, or trim away any rogue hairs if needed.

Word of Caution

Now that said, I do NOT recommend trimming your beard significantly while on vacation unless you'll be away for a sustained period of time and here's why.
Your beard will naturally lay down differently in different climates.

If you're visiting a tropical destination, for example, your beard is likely going to style slightly differently due to the high humidity.

So do not go crazy with the trimmers trying to nit pick at every little thing while you're away! Trust me, I've made this mistake before.

Go enjoy your time and tackle any big beard trims when you get home.
So there you have it, those are my recommended Travel Beard Care essentials to ensure your beard is on point wherever you are.

If you have any questions about this, or anything at all, don't hesitate to reach out anytime.

And as always, Live Bearded, Brother!
