The Beardsmen Podcast Episode 14
He Wasn't Wearing Any Pants! š¤£
Welcome back for the 14th episode of The Beardsmen. This podcast is our opportunity to sit down with you all and answer any questions you may have, and justĀ talk about the experience of being a manĀ in the world today. As we say at the opening of each episode this is where we talk, mock, and never walk away from the conversation.
In this episode Spencer gives a daddy update, and shares how becoming a father has changed his thinking and view on life. Mink and Spence share some laughs and stories about April Fool's Day tomfoolery and Live Bearded's 8th Birthday (this month!) along with some of their favorite memories from Live Bearded's first birthday celebration.
This Week's Questions:
I want to do something really nice for my Old Lady, but not the typical, dinner & movie, flowers chocolate BS. What could I do that weāre both gonna remember forever?
I get angry a lot. Itās a problem. I donāt want it to be, but some things just set me off. How do you control your anger?
I have one vacation I can take this year and I have about $1500 to spend. Where should I go?
Do Better Dude Of The Week
Rodney Smith Jr. started a nonprofit in 2016 called Raising Men & Women Lawn Care Service to do two things: first, provide free lawn care for seniors, disabled adults, veterans, and single parents; and second, mentor 7 - 17 year olds in the values of discipline, hard work, and helping those in need.
For youth interested in participating, Rodney created the "50-Yard Challenge". Kids that join get a T-shirt, sunglasses, and ear protection to get them started, and once they mow 50 lawns, Rodney drives to wherever they are in the United States to mow lawns with them, and gives them a brand-new mower, weedeater, and blower!
So far, over 4,900 kids mowed more than 20,000 lawns for free. Nicely done Rodney! You're an excellent example of what it means to do good in the world.
